Preparation of OPZS electrolyte

1. The battery electrolyte is prepared with HG/T2692-1995 “Sulfuric Acid for Storage Battery” standard sulfuric acid and B/T10053-1999 “Lead-acid Battery Water” standard with distilled water (or deionized water), do not use Other sulfuric acid and tap water preparation, otherwise, it will have a great impact on battery performance and service life.

2 .The density of the electrolyte added in the initial charge of the battery is (1.265±0.01) g/cm3. (Temperature 25℃).

3 . The preparation of electrolytes should use acid-resistant, heat-resistant non-ferrous containers. When preparing, pour the required distilled water into the container according to the proportion, and then slowly pour a certain amount of concentrated sulfuric acid into the distilled water, and stir it with an acid-proof rod or purified compressed air to make it evenly mixed.

Warning

Never pour distilled water into concentrated sulfuric acid. Avoid sulfuric acid splashing and hurting people due to the sudden rise in liquid temperature and boiling.

4 .Measure the density of electrolyte:

The density measurement of the electrolyte is an important means to check the battery. Use a density meter to carefully measure the density of the electrolyte.

Step: Insert the density meter into the battery cell and absorb a small amount of electrolyte to make the float float. Make sure that the top of the float does not touch the rubber ball and the inner tube wall. If you measure the density of the electrolyte after filling distilled water, you should wait for the electrolyte in the entire monomer to mix well before measuring.

The density of the electrolyte corresponds to the temperature. Before measuring the density of the electrolyte, it is recommended that the user use a thermometer to measure the temperature of the electrolyte. To get an accurate electrolyte density value, each measured value needs to be calibrated to the density corresponding to the standard temperature of 25°C. When the temperature is one degree lower than 25°C, the measured density value will be reduced by 0.0007, otherwise it will be increased by 0.0007.

  1. Precautions during the operation and preparation of electrolyte

-The electrolyte is a toxic and corrosive dilute sulfuric acid solution.

-Environmental requirements: a well-ventilated environment.

-Personal protection: prepare the following protective tools: rubber apron, gloves, boots, protective glasses, etc., especially for special eye protection.

6.After the prepared electrolyte is cooled to room temperature, it needs to be adjusted to the specified density according to the requirements.
